We were proud and priviledged to photograph the Mushroom Theatre Company during their final dress rehearsal at the SEEVIC College for their show:

“Better than the last show, but probably not as good as the next Show, Show”

Both the children and helpers were a joy to work with and it was lovely to see the caring relationship between all the participants in the show.  We were delighted to be able to give back £115 to the company for having us there!

About the Mushroom Theatre Company

Hello my name is Penni Bubb and I am the founder of The Mushroom Theatre Company and our charity The Equal People Theatre Company.  I have been teaching dance and drama in schools, college’s and theatre schools for more years than I’d like to remember as well as having ‘a proper job’ some of the time.  I decided to start my own company after much nagging by my husband and friends, mainly because I was disillusioned with the way the performing arts where delivered in mainstream education.  I wanted an environment where children and young people could enjoy the performing arts without the pressure of examinations and test.  Our emphasis is on performance and expression building self esteem and team work.  Skills that are so valuable for adult life.. I know that my own four children have benefited greatly from their involvement in The Mushroom and especially from our work with people with special needs.  Most of my staff are made up of ex-students who understand our philosophy consequently we can all work towards the same goal.
